Beginning the morning of Mon, Nov 18th through Fri Nov 22nd, the stairway entrance at Franklin will be temporarily blocked to allow for necessary maintenance. Passengers can access the station through the parking lot using the entrance on Depot Street.

Affected lines: Franklin/Foxboro Line

On the weekends of December 14-15, an express shuttle and a local shuttle will replace regular weekend train service between Lowell and Anderson/Woburn to allow for track improvement work.

There will be two shuttle buses, once with express service between Lowell and Anderson/Woburn an additional local bus making all stops (Lowell, North Billerica, Wilmington, and Anderson/Woburn). Passengers can use regularly scheduled trains at Anderson/Woburn.

On the weekends of November 23-24, December 7-8, and 21-22, an express shuttle and a local shuttle will replace regular weekend train service between Lowell and North Station to allow for track improvement work.

There will be two shuttle buses, once with service to Lowell, North Billerica, and Wilmington with express service to and from North Station with an additional local bus making all stops between North Station and Wilmington (Anderson/Woburn, Wedgemere, and West Medford.) There will be no shuttle bus service at Winchester Station. Passengers are encouraged to travel to Wedgemere for shuttle bus service.

The new Fall/Winter schedule is now in effect on all lines with seasonal and on-time performance adjustments. Schedules are available online at mbta.com/cr and will be available in hub stations soon.

-The ski train will be back on the Fitchburg Line. Wachusett Mountain ski area operates a shuttle between the ski area and Wachusett station during Winter months to connect to these trains which feature a specifically modified coach equipped with racks for ski and snowboard equipment. Update to when the Ski Trains will be in effect will come out soon. -Holiday service: On Thursday, November 28th, 2024 (Thanksgiving Day), Friday, November 29th, 2024 (Day after Thanksgiving), Wednesday, December 25th, 2024 (Christmas Day), Wednesday, January 1st, 2025 (New Year’s Day), and Monday, February 17th, 2025 (President’s Day) all lines will operate on a weekend schedule. On Monday, January 20th, 2025 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), and Monday, April 21st, 2025 (Patriot’s Day), all lines will operate on a regular weekday schedule. On the weekends of November 23-24, December 7-8, 14-15, and all-day Friday, December 6th, shuttle buses will replace regular train service between Wachusett and North Leominster to allow for signal improvement work.

Diversion schedule will be in effect and available soon.

Green Line: No Train service between Medford/Tufts, Union Square, and Park St, December 6 - 20, for track work. Use shuttle buses between Medford/Tufts & North Station, Use the Orange Line downtown. Shuttles will not service Union Sq - use bus rt 86 + 91.

Alternative Parking at Roslindale Village Parking Lot Reopens: Tuesday, December 3, 2024

The Oak Grove Station Parking Lot will have reduced parking from Tuesday, Nov 12, through Monday, Mar 31, 2025, due to construction. Alternative parking is available at Wellington and/or Station Landing Garage (levels 6-8).

The two Arlington Station entrances adjacent to 350 Boylston St are temporarily closed due to construction. Riders can use the entrances across the street in front of 320 Boylston St.

Effective on weekdays from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, from Monday October 7th through Friday December 20th, at Worcester Union Station, boarding will occur from the tracks adjacent to the 45 Shrewsbury Street parking lot.

Ashmont Escalator 438 (Ashmont platform to Mattapan Line, busway) unavailable due to maintenance

North Quincy Newport Avenue Parking Lot closed beginning Wed Oct 16 due to construction. The vehicle entrance and exit will relocate to the old “state street” driveway. Public access via stairs/escalators to the lobby is restricted. Elevator access only.

Due to accessibility upgrades, commuter parking will be temporarily reduced at Chestnut Hill, Waban, and Eliot. Alternative parking is available at Riverside or the Woodland Garage.

Starting December 15, Route 117 will be discontinued and replaced by the existing Route 116 route between Wonderland and Maverick. For service along Central Ave and Beach St in Revere, riders can use the now frequent Route 110. Learn more: MBTA.com/117

Changes on December 15: • Routes 116 and 117 will be combined into one route, which will follow the same route used by Route 116 today between Wonderland and Maverick. • Route 116 will become a Frequent Bus Route, with service every 15 minutes or better during service hours. • Service will run from 5 AM to 1:25 AM weekdays and Saturdays, and from 5 AM to 1 AM Sundays. • Route 117 will be discontinued. Riders on Central Ave and Beach St may use Route 110, transferring to Route 116 at Broadway @ Park Ave in Revere or at Wonderland. Riders traveling between Maverick and Revere Center looking to access stops on Central Ave and Beach St may use Route 116, transferring to Route 110 at Broadway @ Central Ave.

Changes on December 15: • Service will increase to every 15 minutes or better every day during service hours as Route 109 is upgraded to a Frequent Bus Route. • Service will run from 4:55 AM to 1:22 AM weekdays, and 5 AM to 1:20 AM on weekends. • It will continue to run from Linden Square to Sullivan Square, and will be extended south past Sullivan to Harvard. This extension of Route 109 will replace the existing Route 86 on Washington Street between Sullivan Square and Harvard Square. • This extended route will provide a new direct connection from Everett to the Green Line in Somerville and the Red Line at Harvard Square.

Instead of going south to Sullivan, it will go east to Airport. • Riders traveling to stops toward Sullivan beyond Everett Square can transfer to Route 109 at Broadway @ Norwood St. Riders traveling between Sullivan and Everett Sq towards Malden Center can take Route 109 to Broadway @ Everett Sq and transfer to Route 104 towards Malden Center. Route 109 will also be upgraded to a Frequent Bus Route.

Oak Grove Elevator 800 (Busway, Commuter Rail, parking lot to lobby) unavailable due to maintenance

To exit, upon exiting the faregates, turn left and proceed to Oak Grove Elevator 745 to access the busway and parking lot. To board, proceed to the station entrance located near the busway and use Oak Grove Elevator 745 to access the lobby. Alternatively, customers may utilize Oak Grove Elevator 744 (Lobby to Washington St.) located at the entrance on Washington St.

Effective Monday, Sept 9th & for approximately 7 weeks, the high-level platform on the outbound side of Attleboro station is close for renovation. Please board trains at the north end of the platform. A portable lift will be available on the platform.

The staircase close to the ramp for access to the inbound platform will be closed at the same time. This temporary travel path will allow for work on the platform as part of the Attleboro Renovation Project. Plan for extra travel time. Thank you for your understanding.

Aquarium Escalator 405 (Unpaid lobby to Atlantic Avenue) unavailable due to maintenance

Forest Hills Escalator 127 (Lower busway north to upper lobby) unavailable due to maintenance

Commuter Rail train service is suspended at Haverhill station through Summer 2025 to allow for work on the South Elm Street Bridge. An accessible van operates between Haverhill and Bradford.

Built in 1906, the South Elm Bridge is beyond its useful life and ready to be replaced. Using accelerated bridge construction techniques to reduce customer and traffic impacts, the MBTA will replace the nearly-120-year-old bridge with a modern single-span structure with a useful life of 75 years. The new structure will include a ballasted steel deck, which means a smoother ride for passengers. The MBTA will also perform roadway, sidewalk, and drainage improvements along South Elm Street.

Hingham/Hull Ferry: Portions of the Town of Hull parking lot at the Hull ferry terminal are blocked off for sewer pump station construction work through 2025. More information is available at https://www.town.hull.ma.us/

The Alewife Garage may have additional spaces taken as construction continues. We will try to have as many spaces available as possible.

The Upper Parking Lot at Worcester Station is closed with the exception to accessible parking, due to construction.

Effective until further notice, the entrances to Natick Center station are relocated to Washington Street for access to the inbound and outbound platforms.

North Avenue entrance and Walnut Street entrance will remain closed until further notice. This access change will allow for work on the new platforms as part of Natick Center Station Accessibility Improvements Project.

Oak Grove Escalator 105 (Commuter Rail platform to unpaid lobby) unavailable

The Alewife front entrance at Cambridge Park Dr. is closed weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM due to construction. All buses will use the back entrance at Alewife station via Access Rd.

The Quincy Adams parking garage has re-opened with most parking spaces available. Customers can access the garage via the Route 3 off ramp exit as well as the Burgin Parkway entrance.

Beginning November 29, the parking lot across from the station will close. Please use the garage or adjacent surface lot as an alternative. The Quincy Adams Garage drop-off and pick-up location will remain at its location within Level 1B. The garage will be PayByPhone / PayByPlate with no need to pay to exit. The Riverside Ave entrance at Campello Station is currently closed. Passengers may continue to use the Plain St entrance.

Bowdoin Escalator 125 (Lobby to street) is unavailable until further notice pending replacement.

The escalator will remain out of service for the foreseeable future. This decision was made after a thorough inspection determined that corrosion on the escalator’s steel truss was so severe that it could not be repaired further and that a complete replacement of the escalator would be required. Replacing the escalator at this location requires a more extended unit meeting modern escalator safety requirements. This longer unit will require significant alteration to the station entrance to meet code requirements. The MBTA has currently begun design work to understand what station upgrades will be needed. Due to these complexities, we expect the escalator will remain out of service for a significant time. We recognize the challenges this poses to our riders, and please know we are working to identify a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, Government Center Station, which is fully accessible and serves the Blue Line, is under a quarter-mile from Bowdoin Station.

Andrew Escalator 123 (Ashmont/Braintree platform to busway) unavailable due to maintenance

The door to enter the Forest Hills Pedal and Park is not functioning. We are working to have it addressed as quickly as possible,

Lynn Parking Garage arcade stairs 1 and 2 are closed until further notice due to structural issues. Customers may exit the garage via elevators to the ground level or by using the south stairs located on the Market street side of the garage.

Vehicular access to the upper 2 levels of the garage is restricted. The garage has sufficient parking capacity to accommodate daily demand.

South Station Pedal & Park is closed due to construction. Bicycle racks are currently available on Atlantic Ave adjacent to the South Station main entrance.
