Mattapan Trolley Shuttles: Buses will not service Cedar Grove or Butler stations on Saturday (April 5) from 9:00 PM to the end of service due to bridge work.

Mattapan Trolley: Shuttle buses replace Mattapan Trolley service between Mattapan and Ashmont, April 1 - 9, to allow for critical track work. Shuttle buses will also replace Red Line service between Ashmont and JFK/UMass during this time.

Shuttle Detour on Saturday, April 5: Buses will not service Cedar Grove or Butler stations on Saturday (April 5) from 9:00 PM to the end of service due to bridge work. Accessibility: An accessible van will be available for the duration of the service change, serving Red Line stations between JFK/UMass and Ashmont only. Park Street Elevator 978 (Copley & West platform to Boston Common) unavailable from Thu Apr 10 through Fri Apr 11 due to maintenance

To exit, enter throught the faregates, turn left, and use Park Street Elevator 979 to access the Red Line center platform. At the Red Line platform, proceed to the end of the platform and take Park Street Elevator 808 to the Winter St concourse, then exit through the nearby faregate and use Park Street Elevator 804 to access the corner of Tremont St and Winter St. To board, cross Tremont St to the corner of Tremont St and Winter St, and take Park Street Elevator 804 to the Winter St concourse. At the Winter St concourse, exit through the faregate, then take Park Street Elevator 808 to the Red Line center platform and use Park Street Elevator 979 to access Green Line westbound platform.

Effective on Friday, April 11, the Route 67 stop at Mill St @ Mill Brook Drive is being moved to the other side of Mill Brook Drive.

To exit, use Park Street Elevator 808 located at the end of the Red Line center platform to access the Winter St concourse. At the Winter St concourse, use Park Street Elevator 804 to access Tremont St. To board the Red Line, use Park Street Elevator 804 located at the corner of Tremont St and Winter St to access the Winter St concourse. At the Winter St concourse, use Park Street Elevator 808 to access the Red Line center platform.

Silver Line - SL1 & SL3 will be detoured on Friday and Saturday, April 4 - 5, from 10:30 PM until the end of service, due to the closure of I-90 West Ramp F. Inbound service will be diverted to the Sumner Tunnel.

Passengers can board at an additional stop at Summer St @ South Station (Red Line entrance).

Route 18 is being detoured through Wednesday, April 9, due to work on Dorchester Ave in Fields Corner. The inbound stop at Dorchester Ave opp Charles St is being omitted. Connections can be made at Fields Corner Station & Dorchester Ave @ Adams St.

Red Line Ashmont Branch: Service between JFK/UMass and Ashmont will operate with two shuttle trains from April 10 - 30 to allow for critical track work. Riders will experience longer wait times for trains and should plan extra travel time.

Shuttle Train Information: A shuttle train is one train that will operate, back and forth, between Ashmont and JFK/UMass on a single track. Two shuttle trains will be operating between Ashmont and JFK/UMass during this work – one on each track. Shuttle trains will terminate at JFK/UMass. Riders will need to transfer from the Ashmont side of JFK/UMass station to the Braintree side for continued service towards Alewife, or southbound service to Braintree. Travel Times: Riders will experience longer wait times for trains during this work and should allow for extra travel time. Commuter Rail: Riders can connect to Fairmount Commuter Rail service by using bus route 22 from Ashmont to Talbot Ave station.

On Saturday, April 5th through Sunday, April 6th & Friday, April 25th through Sunday, April, 27th shuttle buses replace train service between North Station and Swampscott to allow for signal improvement work.

Red Line: Shuttle buses replace service from JFK/UMass through Ashmont (and Mattapan), April 1 - 9, to allow for critical track work.

On Saturday, April 5th through Sunday, April 6th, and Friday, April 25th through Sunday, April 27th, the Orange Line will replace train service between North Station and Oak Grove to allow for signal improvement work.

Shuttle Buses replace Green Line service between Government Center and Medford/Tufts, the weekend of April 26 - 27, for maintenance work. Union Square riders can use Bus routes 109, 87, or 91 to connect to shuttles or the Orange Line at Sullivan Square.

Accessible van service will be available at Magoun Square Station. Riders can request this service by seeing onsite personnel. Riders are encouraged to utilize the Orange Line for parallel service through downtown Boston. Bowdoin station will be closed from 7 PM on Friday, April 11, through end of service on Monday, April 14. Riders can use Government Center, a four minute walk from Bowdoin. There will be longer wait times between trains throughout this work.

This work will also take place on the weekend of April 25 - 28. Crowding: Riders should expect crowding at stations during peak travel times on Monday, April 14. If possible, riders are encouraged to travel outside of peak travel times while this work takes place as there will be longer wait times for trains. Train Frequency: Riders should expect increased wait times for Blue Line trains during this work. Expect trains every 8 to 10 minutes on weekdays. Expect trains every 9 to 13 minutes during the weekend. Airport Bus Alternatives: Riders travelling between Downtown Boston and Airport Station can use the SL1 or SL3 Bus. The SL1 runs every 15 minutes or better between South Station and Logan Airport Terminals. The SL3 Bus runs every 15 minutes or better between South Station and Airport Station. Ferry Alternatives: East Boston weekday and weekend ferry service has resumed. The service operates between the Lewis Mall Wharf, a short walk from Maverick Station, and Long Wharf. From Friday April 11 until Sunday April 13 shuttle buses will replace service on the Franklin/Foxboro Line.

Kendall/MIT Elevator 866 (Alewife platform to Main Street) unavailable

To exit, exit the train at Harvard, then take an Ashmont or Braintree-bound train to Kendall/MIT and use Kendall/MIT Elevator 756 or 757 to access Main St. To board, cross Main St and use Kendall/MIT Elevator 756 or 757 to access the Ashmont/Braintree platform. Take an Ashmont or Braintree-bound train to Charles/MGH, then transfer to an Alewife-bound train.

North Station Escalator 447 (Passageway to Commuter Rail, TD Garden) unavailable due to maintenance

Winthrop/Quincy Ferry notice: Weekend service will begin on Saturday, May 17, 2025. On weekends, the MBTA will continue to operate a combined Winthrop and Quincy Ferry route serving all destinations.

On weekends, the combined Winthrop and Quincy Ferry route will serve Winthrop, Quincy, Logan Airport, the Seaport, and Central Wharf / Aquarium. Weekend schedules will be available prior to the start of service at mbta.com/Ferry.

Lynn Ferry notice: Weekday Lynn Ferry service resumed on Monday, March 31, 2025. Weekend service will begin on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Hingham/Hull Ferry notice: Weekend Hingham/Hull Ferry service will begin on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Weekday service continues to operate year-round.

Weekend Hingham/Hull schedules will be available soon at mbta.com/Ferry.

Alewife Garage: Beginning Monday, April 7, the vehicle exit will temporarily relocate to the third level. This is to accommodate ongoing construction in the garage.

South Station Pedal & Park is closed due to construction. Bicycle racks are currently available on Atlantic Ave adjacent to the South Station main entrance.

State Escalator 6 (Oak Grove platform to Old State House lobby) unavailable

East Boston Ferry notice: Weekday and Weekend East Boston Ferry service resumed on Monday, March 31, 2025.

The following stop is closed beginning Mon Mar 31 due to construction: Main St @ Galileo Way (outbound). Route 64,68, and 85 buses will board at the CT2 bus stop, on Galileo Way @ Main St.

A shelter will be installed at this bus stop. Affected routes: 64 68 85

The Route 47 bus stop at Green St @ Magazine St is closed due to construction through May 11. Passengers can use the nearby Green St @ Pearl St bus stop for inbound Rt. 47 service to Broadway.

Green Line B Branch: Service will originate / terminate at the Lake Street platform, just outside of Boston College Station, from 8:45 PM on Friday, April 11 through the end of service on Sunday, April 13. This to allow for maintenance work in the BC yard

Long Wharf South is closed through Fri, Apr 11, for maintenance work. Charlestown Ferry passengers can board at Aquarium/Central Wharf South.

From March 24 to June 1, 2025, the Newburyport/Rockport Line will have a temporary construction schedule in effect to accommodate track improvement work. On June 2, 2025 the full Spring/Summer schedule will resume with full service.

The following trains are temporarily suspended to accommodate track improvement work: Inbound - 126, 1132, 46, & 1150 Outbound - 125, 1129, 39, 1147

The Riverside Ave entrance at Campello Station is currently closed. Passengers may continue to use the Plain St entrance.

There is no accessible path connecting the inbound and outbound platforms at Wellesley Square Station. The existing path includes steep slopes and is long. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

There are accessible mini-high platforms at the Western end of both the Track 1 and Track 2 sides. However, the existing pedestrian path between the two sides is long and includes steep slopes, especially on the Crest Road bridge over the tracks. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

Route 426 outbound is detoured nightly, Sunday through Thursday, from 7 PM to end of service for construction. Connect at: Market Sq @ Western Ave & S Common St @ Market St.

Winthrop/Quincy Ferry notice: Weekday service to Winthrop and Quincy will begin on Monday, April 28, 2025. Weekday trips will be divided into two separate routes.

To better serve ferry passengers, weekday trips will be divided into two separate routes: the Winthrop Ferry operating directly between Winthrop and Boston and the Quincy Ferry operating directly between Quincy and Boston. Both ferry routes will continue to serve Logan Airport, the Seaport, and Central Wharf / Aquarium. Complete schedules will be available soon at mbta.com/Ferry.

Aquarium Escalator 406 (Atlantic Avenue to unpaid lobby) is undergoing a complete overhaul. We are working to complete this work as quickly and safely as possible. Passengers can use the adjacent elevator for access between Atlantic Ave and the lobby.

Davis Escalator 342 (Holland Street to unpaid lobby) unavailable due to maintenance

Littleton/Route 495 passengers can expect occasional traffic and detours accessing the station due to the Foster Street reconstruction work.

Scheduled to complete sometime in 2027, the Reconstruction of Foster Street includes widening and resurfacing with the addition of bicycle lanes.

Effective until further notice, the entrances to Natick Center station are relocated to Washington Street for access to the inbound and outbound platforms.

North Avenue entrance and Walnut Street entrance will remain closed until further notice. This access change will allow for work on the new platforms as part of Natick Center Station Accessibility Improvements Project.

Andrew Escalator 123 (Ashmont/Braintree platform to busway) is unavailable until further notice pending replacement.

Quincy Center Escalator 330 (Red Line platform to lobby) unavailable due to maintenance

North Quincy Newport Avenue Parking Lot closed beginning Wed Oct 16 due to construction. The vehicle entrance and exit will relocate to the old “state street” driveway. Public access via stairs/escalators to the lobby is restricted. Elevator access only.

Commuter Rail train service is suspended at Haverhill station through Summer 2025 to allow for work on the South Elm Street Bridge. An accessible van operates between Haverhill and Bradford.

Built in 1906, the South Elm Bridge is beyond its useful life and ready to be replaced. Using accelerated bridge construction techniques to reduce customer and traffic impacts, the MBTA will replace the nearly-120-year-old bridge with a modern single-span structure with a useful life of 75 years. The new structure will include a ballasted steel deck, which means a smoother ride for passengers. The MBTA will also perform roadway, sidewalk, and drainage improvements along South Elm Street.

Hingham/Hull Ferry: Portions of the Town of Hull parking lot at the Hull ferry terminal are blocked off for sewer pump station construction work through 2025. More information is available at https://www.town.hull.ma.us/

The Upper Parking Lot at Worcester Station is closed with the exception to accessible parking, due to construction.

Oak Grove Escalator 105 (Commuter Rail platform to unpaid lobby) unavailable

Ruggles Escalator 136 (Orange Line platform to upper lobby) unavailable due to maintenance

Bowdoin Escalator 125 (Lobby to street) is unavailable until further notice pending replacement.

The escalator will remain out of service for the foreseeable future. This decision was made after a thorough inspection determined that corrosion on the escalator’s steel truss was so severe that it could not be repaired further and that a complete replacement of the escalator would be required. Replacing the escalator at this location requires a more extended unit meeting modern escalator safety requirements. This longer unit will require significant alteration to the station entrance to meet code requirements. The MBTA has currently begun design work to understand what station upgrades will be needed. Due to these complexities, we expect the escalator will remain out of service for a significant time. We recognize the challenges this poses to our riders, and please know we are working to identify a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, Government Center Station, which is fully accessible and serves the Blue Line, is under a quarter-mile from Bowdoin Station.

Lynn Parking Garage arcade stairs 1 and 2 are closed until further notice due to structural issues. Customers may exit the garage via elevators to the ground level or by using the south stairs located on the Market street side of the garage.

Vehicular access to the upper 2 levels of the garage is restricted. The garage has sufficient parking capacity to accommodate daily demand.
